For a store running on WordPress and WooCommerce, we built a custom plugin that replaces the commerce plugin it used before. It provides a new cart, checkout and account area, and tells customers whether same-day delivery applies based on postal code and public holidays.

WooCommerce, custom plugin, delivery settings

Same-day delivery, coupons, points and gifts all had to fit into one checkout.
The delivery method depends on the address and the date. The guidance text had to change depending on whether the area supports same-day delivery and whether the day is a holiday.
We put the cart, checkout and account area into a single plugin.
In the cart, customers select items and choose a delivery method. Checkout separates billing and shipping details and brings coupons, points and gift selection into one flow. The account area covers order lists and details, coupons, points and reviews, and also handles account deletion.
Staff register same-day delivery postal codes and holidays themselves and edit the delivery guidance. Screens are placed in the page builder through shortcodes, and templates can be overridden from the theme.
Orders and products stay in WooCommerce, and only the purchase screens are replaced by the plugin.
Cart, checkout, account and delivery guidance are provided as four shortcodes.
Screens are composed by placing shortcodes in the page builder.
Same-day postal codes, holidays and guidance text are managed in the admin.
